(If the game is running slow for you, then try turning on hardware acceleration.)

Waffles OS is a simple point-and-click game that simulates a standard desktop environment. It also comes with a virtual assistant that may or may not react to certain things that you do in the operating system.

Your goal here is simple: find something that you won't usually see in a typical operating system, and try your best to figure out how to access it.

If the virtual assistant gets annoyed, then you're doing it correctly.

Background

I've initially started this game back in 2024, and actually never got back to it until just a few months earlier this year. It was mostly due to my interest shifting towards other things that I temporarily left this game.

But when I came back, I now had the motivation to complete this short point-and-click. I was inspired by There Is No Game by Draw Me a Pixel, particularly the feature of having a narrator who reacts to what the player does. So I implemented that in this game through a virtual assistant (or V.A., as she calls herself).

The puzzles are really nothing special. You could complete this in probably less than five minutes if you really know what you're doing.

But what's important to me is that I got to experience making a game where the only control needed from the player was the mouse. And I'm hoping to practice making small-scale games in other genres in the future.

=====

For now, I hope you enjoy playing this short game. And thank you in advance for having the time to do so. This was a great learning experience for me, and I also had fun making it. I'm thankful that I got back to this project after a long while.

That's all I have for this one. Thank you again, and God bless.

Is there anything left to do on the professional edition loading screen?

Hello, sorry for the very late reply. I was busy this weekend.

To answer your question, no. V.A. tells you to restart your machine, as in reload the page. It's supposed to load infinitely, kind of like how actual computers would error out by loading infinitely.

Also, just saying, this isn't the only possible ending screen you could get when completing the game.

Thanks for having the time to play my game. I appreciate it, and God bless.
